The Retirement Income Builder is the part all members join automatically. It provides you with a guaranteed income for life when you retire based on how long you’ve been an active member of USS and your salary up to a threshold.
You’ll also get a cash lump sum (which is tax-free up to a limit), plus life cover (while you’re paying into your pension) and ill health benefits.
